Starlight’s Forge history is separate from its Fabric line. Public Forge listings show official releases for 1.17.1, 1.18.x, 1.19.x, 1.20–1.20.1 and 1.20.2. The last listed Forge release is Starlight 1.1.3 for Minecraft 1.20.2.
Forge and Fabric files are not interchangeable
The shared project name does not make the loaders compatible. A Forge JAR expects Forge’s environment and mappings; a Fabric JAR expects Fabric’s environment. Match the file to the loader first, then match the Minecraft patch.
Historical Forge release map
The public line includes Starlight 1.1.2 for Minecraft 1.20–1.20.1, Starlight 1.1.1 for 1.19.x, and Starlight 1.0.x releases for 1.18.x and 1.17.1. Those are historical targets, not a promise that every modern modpack built on those versions will be compatible.
Compatibility improvements do not remove conflict risk
The last Forge release included mod-compatibility work, but Starlight remains an invasive light-engine rewrite. Mods that alter chunk NBT, lighting sections or world-generation internals deserve careful testing.
Use a controlled install sequence
Back up the world, confirm the exact Forge and Minecraft versions, remove Phosphor, install one Starlight file, and launch without changing anything else. If the game fails, read the earliest meaningful loader error before adding more mods.
What to do on 1.21.x
The original Starlight Forge line did not continue into 1.21.x. Search results for a “Starlight 1.21 Forge” file should therefore be checked for project identity before download.
